Welcome back to the Infinite Lives newsletter; what a time to write about gaming. I originally intended this first piece back to be a gentle ease into the new year. A light read, covering off the major points that will shape this year.

It may just be writer’s enthusiasm from taking almost a month off from penning this newsletter, but as I kept going, the thoughts really piled up.

We really are living in a fascinating time for the sector, where so many ideas and trends are actively affecting the way games are made, the way we play them, and the overall health of the industry.

There’s a lot to talk about. So let’s get into it. Here are the big questions that I think will shape gaming this year.
