Welcome to Infinite Lives

Hey there, I’m Harrison (or Harry). I’ve played video games since I was five and have worked as a professional editor, journalist and producer. This newsletter was born out of my curiosity for the gaming industry and a long-running desire to write about it.

Why subscribe?

It’s free to read all new articles on Infinite Lives and to sign up to the email, but all past articles are locked for paid subscribers. You can read more about my paid subscription offering here.

As for why you should sign up:

Unique articles: The goal of Infinite Lives is to be news-relevant but not to follow the crowd. Where possible, I’m looking at the news and finding unique takes and angles on existing stories. If I’m broadening your perspective on video games, then I’m doing my job.

Accessible for all: Don’t understand gaming, but want to? No worries. Infinite Lives is written with accessibility in mind. We’ll explain the jargon and acronyms, spelling them out where needed. I also push out regular explainers aimed at expanding your knowledge on a game genre, platform, or dynamics in gaming.

An Australian focus: Gaming is a global industry, but Australia plays a unique role in it. Despite the size of our industry, we push out some of the world’s largest indie games, and quietly home some the sector’s best talent.

Journalistic approach: Infinite Lives is written journalistically and adheres to the charter of ethics set out by the Australian Press Council. What does that mean? I interview where I can, fact check, declare interests and correct any misinformation. It’s invisible, but important, work.

Supporting independent media: Each new subscriber motivates me to dig deeper, write stronger stories. The ultimate goal of Infinite Lives is to support and bolster Australian games journalism, and tell more Australian stories about the global games industry.

Publication achievements:

Nominee: Best Games Journalist — IT Journalism Awards, 2025.
