REVIEW: Tight gameplay mechanics Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii reach new heights and make a strong case for more fast-following spin-offs that recycle assets.
Sega really are doing a lot right here. Quick development turnaround, recycled assets, not stretching out the playtime and respecting the player by selling it at a lower price. There's a lot to like. More big studios should take note. Kudos!
I’ve never played any of the Yakuza games, but this one really intrigues me because of how sheerly bonkers it looks. And it plays well, too?? Might have to give it a go, then!
Give it a go! I started with Infinite Wealth off a friend's recommendation, and will keep up with the series now.
They are pretty good titles. This one is shorter and a little easier to get into than Infinite Wealth (which takes about 6 hours to warm up). But I think Inf Wealth's combat system is slightly better.
They are just generally good games. Well made, with really good interconnected systems. Every player action feels constructive, and a good length too.

Totally agree!
I loved my 30+ hours with this game, in some ways more than the 80+ hours I just spent on Kingdom Come II: Deliverance (next week's review).
I wonder if its just because I'm getting older and have less time to play, but I'm starting to really appreciate games that don't waste my time!
